Everyone wants fresh, healthy colour, but often our skin assumes a grey, opaque and faded appearance.

Dull Skin: the causes

Interaction between the skin and light

Luminosity of the face and skin around the eyes has correlation to the optical properties that light assumes upon contact with the skin. Healthy skin should look smooth and uniform. At the moment in which the lights rays reach the surface of the skin, a small part is immediately reflected by the cutaneous relief in a uniform way.

Phase 2 When they eventually come into contact with the micro blood vessels, the luminous rays meet the haemoglobin, which absorbing all the colours of the light spectrum, except red, are reflected towards the surface. This is called ‘retro- diffusion of light’. This colour gives the skin its bright and fresh appearance.
Phase 3 If the two phenomena on the surface and in depth are in optimal conditions. The colouring is luminous and shiny and will have a uniform and healthy appearance.
